Yariv Goldman...

I discovered the music of Yariv Goldman through a mutual friend. Yariv is an Israeli artist whose songs demonstrate an uncommon beauty. The opening song, "Birkat HaCohanim," is a particular reworking of the blessing of Number 6:24-26.

A Sufi Songwriter

Phil Wickham is currently one of my favorite songwriters. He gets past so many current musical clichés in often very beautiful lyrics which somehow, ironically, bring to mind the words of some of the Sufi poets of past centuries, yet very Christologically focused. Where the Wild Things Are

Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are was probably my favorite book when I was small. I took it out from the library over ad over until my parents finally bought me my own copy. While I have heard that someone or another is actually working on making it into a movie, I stumbled recently across a short "claymation" (think Gumby or Davy and Goliath) version which someone had done for a university film class project. I'm impressed.
